Founded in 2015, Valorize Consulting LLC is a healthcare reimbursement and advisory firm designed to leverage expertise and experience in a cost-efficient manner possible.

Our Experts

  • Valerie founded Valorize in 2015, bringing more than 40 years of healthcare consulting experience.

    Valerie began at the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), now the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). On a federal level, she held positions at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including with the Assistant Secretary for Management and Budget (ASMB), Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE), as well as HCFA.

    She has served as a reimbursement manager for a large academic medical center, overseeing cost reporting, reopening and appeals, and lead projects implementing Medicare requirements in conjunction with the school of medicine.

    Valerie has also served as a healthcare system revenue cycle director for 10 years, and as a consultant for Navigant, and Health Revenue Assurance Associations.

  • Amy has been with Valorize Consulting since the firm’s founding in 2015. Amy focuses on Medicare payment policy for novel therapies, such as cell and gene therapies.

    She has a strong focus on coding analysis and strategic support for commercialization, including assisting industry clients with blueprint production for coding and reimbursement requirements necessary for product launch, the preparation and review of coding and billing guides and other customer-facing materials, and market access team training and education.

    Amy also focuses on quality reporting requirements and implementation for providers, CMS Innovation and alternative payment model comparison, and supports expert witness documentation analyses.

    • Natasha Cogdill, RN, MSN, FNP, RNFA, CHC, CHRC, CHPC

    Natasha Cogdill is currently an independent consultant with NEC Consulting. Natasha has served in the healthcare industry for over 20 years in a multitude of clinical, management, and senior administrative roles predominately for non-profit health care systems comprised of acute care facilities (with a designated Level 1 Trauma Center), home health, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, inpatient behavioral health, cancer institute, hospice, ambulatory care clinics in partnership with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) designations, medical foundations (i.e., physician practices), and a locally based commercial healthcare plan.

    Natasha’s previous roles include serving as the Director of Compliance and Regulatory Education, the Vice President of Ethics and Compliance, and Chief Ethics, Compliance, and the Privacy Officer of both the acute and post-acute care facilities and medical foundation of physician practices. Her clinical background consists of having served in multiple roles in various inpatient and outpatient settings within acute care facilities. This includes being a licensed registered nurse (RN) in the state of California with bedside experience in telemetry, medical-surgical, oncology, and critical/intensive care units. She is also an advanced practice provider and licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of California.

    • Yvette DeVay, CPC, CPC-I, CPMA & CIC

    Yvette is an industry expert with over 20 years of expertise in healthcare reimbursement, coding, consulting, charge capture, audits, and litigation defense. She has worked with numerous medical practices and other healthcare providers on a wide range of coding, compliance and reimbursement-­‐related issues with a particular focus on coding and billing reviews/audits. Yvette has extensive knowledge of Medicare coding, billing and compliance issues and has worked with a Medicare Program Safeguard Contractor (PSC) as a data analyst, policy consultant, and data manager. She serves as a coding expert for independent review organizations (IROs) and has assisted numerous law firms in both litigation defense and corporate integrity agreement oversight.
